In late 2022, TVNZ announced that it was launching the New Zealand version of “FBoy Island”. Disappointed and alarmed by this decision by our state broadcaster, Project Gender launched an open letter to Simon Power, TVNZ CEO, on Action Station - gaining nearly 8,000 signatures in several days. Project Gender were invited to meet with TVNZ and, as of 2023, we are working with them to help them to apply a gender lens across their commissioning and programming decisions.
